Glasses & Lenses Care Instructions

Your glasses do more than help you see – they protect your eyes and define your day. But even the best lenses can’t perform at their peak if they’re covered in smudges, dust, or residue. Regular cleaning not only improves clarity but also extends the life of your lenses and coatings, ensuring you always see the world as sharply as you should. Follow these simple care steps to keep your eyewear spotless, scratch-free, and performing like new.

01

Cleaning

Rinse your glasses under cold or lukewarm water to remove any dust or debris. Apply a small amount of mild hand soap to gently clean the front surface of the lenses and the frame. The back surface of your lenses, closet to your eyes, have an antifog layer on them. You don’t want to wash this off.

02

Drying

After rinsing, dry your lenses with the microfibre cloth provided in your case. Avoid using tissues, rough materials or clothing, as they can scratch the lenses. Dab the back surface of your lenses with the cloth to reduce removing the antifog layer.

03

Cloth Maintenance

Wash your cloth weekly to maintain its effectiveness and prevent dirt buildup, which could damage your lenses.

04

Use Specialised Cleaning Products

For optimal cleaning, use Zeiss Lenses wipes or Matthews lens cleaning spray to safely remove smudges and fingerprints without damaging the lenses. Matthews can refill spray bottles to ensure you always have a fresh supply of lens cleaning solution.

05

Storage

When not wearing your glasses, always store them in their case to protect them from scratches, dust, and damage.

06

Proper Handling

Always use both hands when putting your glasses on or taking them off to avoid misaligning your frame.

07

Proper Lens Placement

Never put your glasses with the lenses facing down on a surface. This can scratch the lenses and damage the coating.

08

Avoid Wearing on Top of Your Head

Refrain from placing your glasses on top of your head, as this can distort the frames and cause them to lose shape.

09

Avoid Excessive Heat

Do not expose your glasses to excessive heat, such as leaving them in a hot car or near an open oven. High temperatures can cause the frames to warp or damage the lens coatings.
