The OUT OF Bot 2 feature electronic lenses, able to adjust to light changes in less than one second, completely automatically and without using any battery.
You’re riding in the sun and suddenly enter a tunnel or dense tree cover… in less than one second the lens becomes clear. Then emerging back into bright sunlight, the lens returns to a dark tint, again in under a second.
The Bot 2 work like a photochromic lens, but instead of a more gradual adjustment to light conditions, the change is almost instant.
IRID lenses work thanks to a special liquid crystal film that is powered by a small solar cell, controlled by the electronics built into the frames. They cover any tint between category 1 and 3*, so they are perfect for low light conditions such as in dense forest or during early morning rides, as well as being fully suited for bright sunny days. They don’t have just two or three fixed tints, but change incrementally across the range, adjusting subtly to your eye’s needs.
The Bot 2 don’t require a battery, so you will never have to charge them and they will never die on you when you need them most. The lack of battery keeps them light and durable, feeling like regular sunglasses to wear
They are also waterproof so getting caught in a storm or washing them after a sweaty ride is no problem.
